I didn't think much of the conference; it seemed more of a chastisement than anything. The Elders here in general haven't been working too hard, self included. But it was nice having it in our new Branch house. I really think it is nice and will be a great help.

The President's interview impressed me because he said that I may be made a SENIOR shortly. That will be quite an experience because I don't know that much Italian or German. I'm still more confident with the German. Also, he said that they may be moving some Elders up to the German Speaking part of Switzerland to be working with the Italian population there. I'm not too enthused. I guess I like it to well in Tessin. This new program is part of the philosophy brought over from the South German Mission. The Southern German with its Italian program has been working with the large Italian population in Germany that is there because of work needs. I don't mean to detract from the work they are doing there, but I'm a little prejudice because I thin we can get our own program going. It is true they have done a lot in getting these translated in Italian and the like but the two brains of the South German program and Elder Snow and Cardon came down just before the District Conference and worked with our District Elder and his companion. Camberlang and Tolley respectively. Snow seemed to be the introvert but from what I'm told he is quite the intellectual (but not personable at all) for snow.

So I may be transferred shortly. I' going to have to at least get the first lesson in Italian learned by that time. In retrospect the President Russon interview was one of setting goals. He is right, but I'm a weak man. It seems that i only raise to the circumstance that have too.

We had some interesting experiences the last couple of days. For example as we were going systematically through, an elderly lady invited us in. After talking to her for a while she asked s how we had gotten her name. Boy was I tempted to say that someone had given it to us or the Lord had sent us. I think I will use the latter next time.
