Yesterday evening we had a very interesting with a Swiss schoolteacher. It seems as though we talk to quite a few schoolteachers. They appear to be the only people at times that are not afraid to hear our message. The fellow we talked to last night was exceptionally sharp. He knows the Bible fairly well. As an exception to the rule, he wasn’t a member of the Canton Church but a Methodist. We talked about the Thirteenth Article of Faith. He asked some real good questions about the Third article, i.e. the meaning of the words law and ordinances of the Gospel- and also about the Tenth.  We could answer the first one quite well, but the tenth, i.e. the restoration of the 10 tribes of Israel and the 2 Jerusalems gave us some trouble. Boy, when we got home, we did a little studying. But strangely enough the login in the Bible isn’t to good to prove the erection of the New Jerusalem on the American continent. But nevertheless we got shot down. Next time we will do little better.

Today we went to Glarus and worked with Brothers Musick and Murry. This was the second time; I have worked in the Glarus area. To my belief, this is the most difficult place in Switzerland to work. The people really have a narrow opinion of their surroundings- and their relationship to other things in the world.

That evening in the Glarus area, actually Nafels, we talked to a young couple that I thought was quite interesting. He was a jazz musician and played the trumpet. He also had a fabulous collection of good Dixey Land Jazz or the New Orleans area blues personalities. We found many things of common interest thereby.

Elder Musick showed a “vortrag” he had made from slides of his own collection. It was real good. This got me thinking0 perhaps I could also make a collection of slides of the church from all over the world. I also have friends in many lands, i.e. Guinn Anderson, Pankerson, and USN. I must make and attempt to also compile a Vortrag (=lecture with slides).
