Missionary Experiences: Elder Lawrence John Glavinic

 Date: 2-15-64 Well, we had a little excitement here this last week. The Swiss Mission received its longest transfer. Yes some 20000km or about 1000miles. Where to? Well, an Elder (Tolley) from here in Lugano and one from Zurich (Adams) will be transferred to work down in Beirut ,Lebanon. As far as I know they will be the first Elders of the Church to proselyte in the area of the Holy land. This created a lot of speculation amongst the Elders here in Tessin. One of the Elders piked up the Bible and turned to revelations (Rev 11:1-12) where John prophesies of the last days before the second coming of Christ. He says that there will be two prophets that will preach with power in the Holy land. They shall be killed and lie in the streets 3.5 days before they shall again take up the bodies and ascend to there Father I Heaven.  Date: 2-7-64 I didn't think much of the conference; it seemed more of a chastisement than anything. The Elders here in general haven't been working too hard, self included. But it was nice having it in our new Branch house. I really think it is nice and will be a great help.  The President's interview impressed me because he said that I may be made a SENIOR shortly. That will be quite an experience because I don't know that much Italian or German. I'm still more confident with the German. Also, he said that they may be moving some Elders up to the German Speaking part of Switzerland to be working with the Italian population there. I'm not too enthused. I guess I like it to well in Tessin. This new program is part of the philosophy brought over from the South German Mission. The Southern German with its Italian program has been working with the large Italian population in Germany that is there because of work needs. I don't mean to detract from the work they...

If a man doesn't have two choices to choose from he can't choose. In four places in the Bible is says that we are either good (hot) or bad (cold). Don't be spewed out of his mouth!
