Date: 11 -23-63 This morning at church we had a couple of Italian investigators so we had the service in Italian. The Sunday before last I gave the sacrament gem in Italian and this last Sunday it gave or read the prayer on the water. So things are going pretty good but still can use much improvement. This has been sort of a mixed up week. So many things have transpired. I am still a little dissatisfied with my companion brother Monson. I'll have to admit that he does have a better knowledge of both the German and Italian languages but he just wouldn't go out and work. For the last two months how I've been trying to push and pull and lead him, but it is almost impossible. I guess I'm just going to have to accept the pace that he sets for our joint effort. I must have had it real god with my first companions. We always had study classes and got out of bed on time0 but Monson is impossible and sloppy. He just lives in his own dirt. I just bugs me- I don't think he ...

Date: 11 -10-63 I really did enjoy the conference. It represented a wonderful opportunity to get reacquainted with many of the friends I have made with the missionaries here. Although they are only a small number of the 180 missionaries. In the Last 8 days it has rained 5. therefore you can imagine just what the work has been like (a bit wet!) But the message of the Lord to the people in this day has a lot of fire. We met some really nice people here. They were from Zurich initially but had moved and lived at Via Criconvallazione 24. They invited us up for the famous Swiss dish of "FONDUE" I had heard so much about it but never had the opportunity to try it. It was really great!! I thought I would leave the recipe below so when I get home I can also make this wonderful dish.

Date: 11 -01-63 I have an interesting story to tell. It all started out on Tuesday evening. The next day I realized that I would be giving the first discussion to an investigator that appeared to be real good. Wanting to do a good job, I planned to study that seeing after we got in. I went into the "head" and there is where I studied. After reciting the first a couple of times, I thought I would go to bed so I went back to our room, but the door was locked. I had forgotten my key! Well, it wasn't too late, I figured so I banged on the door. No one answered then I rang the door bell. Still no on answered. Being that there was a clock across the street I looked out the front door to see what time it was. Yes, it was 1;30am. the thing that puzzled me was that the light was still on in our room. My companion must have gone to sleep with it on. Well, I thought he will surely wake-up with the light on during the night and see that I'm not there and open the door because i...
