3. President Russon: tells of choosing new second counselor Brother Hart. Brother Hart seems humble. Cavalli is still very sick, we will have a Fast Day Sunday and then President will go to Lugano to bless him. **GOALS-motivation/positive. Qualities needed for success: Burning desire to share and do what is expected of him. Seminary or Institute. Independence: school, army, work, pays for mission by himself. Always desires to go on mission. Paradox, Wants to improve circumstances. Personal preparation and thoroughness. Success depends on attitude, cooperation, and achievement. "espier di cope" = self consecration. The difference between a machine and repetition human is with a machine after much use it becomes weaker and wear out. The human becomes stronger and develops. In the end you have a finished product. ** Let me share you you. Power-Love-Sound Mind. Alma 29:24: sons of ALma and Mosaih. True and Light are intelligence. In 3 months what can we achieve?? 

4. JOKE: going into cottage meeting and people saying that they have only 15 minutes. And they say, "explain all about your church" well then you say, "I'll take 10 to explain mine and you can explain yours in 5. Okay?"

Future of the mission: (a) no more co-senior companionships (b) no more 2nd counselor missionaries (c) Future only 50 senior companions (d) Zone Conference Jan 28 with personal interview with Benson (e) Few district outings (f) Assistants to President: Whipple and Mariott **Chastisement: word of wisdom, sports, trips, be truthful with self. May 24th, 1963

  Date: 5-24-63 Interesting Experience- called the mission home yesterday to have Elder McCune bring the other pair of pants to my suit, that I bought from him, down to the missionary conference. I said, “Is Elder McCune there?” the mission president, Russon, answered and said “no”. Then asked me a question in German. It really startled me. I was caught speechless for a minute not knowing whether to answer of not; and if so, should I try in German? He repeated the question in German. This time I understood. “Wer ist diese? Or “who is this?” I answered in English. I finally got the message across \but it really brought the realism of how little German I do know. I imagine we will hear something today in conference about making English off limits. Yesterday, we also went out to do a little “Umfraging” or surveying. I didn’t even know the questions.
