Missionary Experiences: Elder Lawrence John Glavinic

 Date: 3-29-64 The capacity seems to rise to the need. My Italian seems to be growing by leaps and bounds! I made an appointment to give a second lesson and what happens? In one morning I learned the lesson. It is almost remarkable. But now I still have to learn the fist. Well, I know the Lord wouldn't ask anything of me if the way wasn't prepared for me. But then again, it leaves you to a lot of wondering sometimes. Easter is almost here. But it just keeps raining. It is not too pleasant but on the other hand, it could be worse. We are looking forward to a nice Easter service at church with flowers and maybe an Easter song.  I played my companion at chess the other day. We came out even. four games to four and one tie. Date: 3-23-64 Well, last Saturday I was made a Senior Companion. It is quite an opportunity to do a lot of good work. I feel a little incapable but I think with a little help from the Lord, everything will work out well.  I leaned a lot about people from my last companion, Mascaro. The only thing that was a little regretful was that he didn't speak too much about religion. But then maybe I shouldn't be too critical because he was instrumental in getting the Lawyer Cecchini baptized.  About a week ago we had two baptisms. One was the lawyer and the other was an Italian Laborer. I hope things keep going so.  I guess my Italian is to the passable level now. I just wish I knew more of the lesson plan. I've got part of the first memorized in Italian and three f the German lessons. I've been able to do a little bit of preaching in church both in Sunday school and at the baptismal service.
