District Conference

Presiding: President Russon

Purpose: Regular conference and interview

People Present: 2nd Counselor, Brother Weber, and 6 Elders from the Zurich Land District

Place: Wetikon, ZH


Procedure: opening remarks from District Leader Douglas Workmann

1) Talk from Elder Frehner

        a. Questions that side tract discussion

                    i. Answering them, or better yet, writing them down and answering them later

                    ii. Analogy- Just like eating a meal you can’t eat it all in one bite, we have 6 discussions

        b. Bear testimony OFTEN!

        c. Be sincere when teaching the gospel

        d. Question to ask self, “What would the Church be like if everyone was like me?”

        e. The ONLY place SUCCESS comes before WORK is in the dictionary

        f. Joseph Smith said, “you don’t plow when you’re looking backwards”


2) Talk from Brother Workmann

        a. Attitude to being a successful missionary lies in 3 areas

                    1. Physical

                    2. Mental

                   3. Spiritual

        b. These three areas are where we can often use the most help. We must remember fasting is                 good to get us on a spiritual plane but fasting without prayer will help no one.

        c. We must: “work the plan and plan the work”


3) Tuttle- proper presentation of 5th discussion


4) President Russon

        a. Even President David O. McKay had doubts

        b. Join the 4-H club

                    1. Heart

                    2. Head

                    3. Hands- build kingdom

                    4. Heels- carry you to doors


5) 2nd Counselor Weber- “why I’m on a mission” contributed from group

            1. To convert people to Gospel

            2. Bring happiness to others

            3. Serve the Lord

            4. Give others the opportunity to progress


We must also endure to the end- “I’m here to baptize everyone that is ready and leave everyone else without an excuse.”
