Missionary Experiences: Elder Lawrence John Glavinic

 Date: 5-27-64 Well, last Saturday I received my transfer that was to relieve me of my problems with the "paranoia" I sure hope it goes well with him. My transfer moved me clear across Switzerland. I'm now working in Basel with the Italians. I'm to be in charge of the Italian Branch that we have there. It will certainly require a lot of work. I'm sure pleased with my new companion, he is a California boy from San Jose. We seem to have many things in common. I've been in Basel four days now. That entailed going to a fully organized church. The first time in eleven  months I've had somewhat of a look around .there appears to be that there are a lot of Italians here. As a matter of fact 12,000 that's of a population of 200,000 for Basel. We have some real good investigators both German and Italian. However the Italians are the ones that need the most help because in reality they really don't know anything about Christianity.  Duomo in Basel Entrance t...

 Date: 5-08-64 Progress, progress and more progress- I've been making great leaps forward with the language lately. I believe this is because I have been having the opportunity to use my knowledge of the language. We have a real fine investigator named Signor Lera, He wants to hear more so therefore, I have the opportunity to learn more and give that which I learn.  During the intervening time we have had Brother Muslic working with us. He was really a hard working Elder in the German Program and has been working with the President in the Mission Home. But during the President's stay in Italy he has been taking the place of Elder Camberlang to make things even. Some of us feel he is a spy for the President. I guess the President would like to know why we are not baptizing.
